Working ini for Canada

Hello,

I have got tvhebdo working for Canada, but it is really slow and takes like 30 minutes to do just one channel.

Is there a trick to using this site, or otherwise, is there a better working ini for Canada?

Thanks

The most recent tvtv.ca ini works fine.  Just make sure after you run it once to open the robots folder, click on the tvtv.ca file and make sure it only has this (delete the rest):
User-agent: *User-agent: WebGrab+Plus

Save it, then make it "read only"

Try it again.

Heya,

Ok, im being a newb again, but when i try to generate channels with this by using the "c" in the xml, i just get the no index error.

Also, ive never used a robot file before.

Whats the steps for this one?

Are there channels missing from the already generated channels xml?  It seems fairly complete.  I'm uploading the most recent ini and xml, although, its from the latest pack so it should be the same. Don't forget to remove the underscore in the ini & the channels xml files so that they read "tvtv.ca.ini" and "tvtv.ca.channels.xml"

I'm also uploading my robots file for tvtv.ca.robots. I had to add ".jpg" at the end of it to upload, make sure to remove that extension. Just overwrite that in the robots folder and make sure to right click, select properties, and make as read only.

I dunno, i cant get it to work, keep getting blank channel files. Ill keep playing round with it.

Any idea where these channels are:
- Much (CA)
- CTV2 [Torronto] (CA)
- HBO 2 (CA)

2 of 3 of those are in that list
HBO 2 (is called HBO West)
Much is MUCH Music

Not trying to be jerk, but if you are delving into tons of countries' channels, warm-up your Google search. Like I mentioned on one of your post, I know more about UK channels than I should since I'm in the US.

I agree.webgrab started free for personal use.
the license was introduce to try curb abuse(least users will have to donate to get 1000 channels,a whole 5 euro/yr).
I think it should be a lot more but wasn't my call.
the creators are trying to make a happy medium for the iptv guys and the regualar users(say unsing it for their ota channel).
its a hard line to keep all happy but something had to be done.
who watches more than 1000 channels?
by time u figure out what to watch the show is over...

of course man, trust me, i've had questions myself, but usually more about ini technical issues.  I really want to understand ini creation, but damn its above my head.  I've read the manual, and still don't quite get it.

Blackbear, i went to that sight, impressed. haha. don't know how you guys do this.

Hi,

I am getting the following error on a Windows 2019 Server:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
[ Info ] ( 1/1 ) TVTV.CA -- chan. (xmltv_id=Addik TV) -- mode Force

[Critical] Unhandled Exception
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I am not getting the same error on a Win 10 machine using the same config file. I set the robot to read-only on both machines, but this error pops up only on the Win Server machine. Any ideas on what this error is pointing to?

If you are still struggling,
I had the same issue with TVTV.us and this is how I fixed it today (don't know how long this will work)
I'm on Windows 7 Professional

Deleted tvtv.us.robots
Deleted hot_cookies.txt
Re-ran WG with my 30 channel list.
Changed every instance of "Disallow" to "Allow" in newly created tvtv.us.robots file and DID NOT make it read only.
Ran WG and it pulled channels.

Something might have changed around the beginning of July.

Thanks, will give that a try. I was hoping someone has seen this exact error print.

It is weird how this is happening on Win Server OSes. I cannot replicate the problem on Win 10.

Please let me know if it works. I’m still trying to figure this out.
My error looked exactly as yours:

TVGuide.com.ini works great for US/Can still. Just heads up.

I don't see any tvguide.com.ini in the siteinipack. Where is this ini found?

Edit: Oh, I found it in the Networks folder in the sitepack.

I misspoke a bit. You can use TVGuide for Canada, but TVPassport works faster. For the US it is TVGuide for me.

I had the same error, it was working ok then after updating Webgrabplus it stopped working.
The solution for me was to delete robots folder, run Webgrabplus once so it creates both the folder and the file again.
Then edit robots file as instructed above and put it read-only.
