webgrab++ will not create guide.xml under any given circumstance

Sorry for the no log but I've been at this for days and there isn't an answer on the forum so apologies. I can't even get a log created and yes logging is enabled. When I try to install on Windows 8.1 I get an error message for one.

At any rate, I am able to get WebGrab running to some extent. However once I get to the dummy.ini step it will not WILL NOT create a guide.xml file for me. I have searched my computer and it doesn't get created anywhere. I have changed the filename/path in the config.xml to every imagineable place that it can possibly go to.

I'm certain I've left a few details out but I'm very tired. I just want to get this working. Someone please help!

First, your filename is wrong in the config file. It is pointing to a place, where you don't have write permission. So change is to a folder where you have write access.

Normally you should have a folder called:

C:\ProgramData\ServerCare\WebGrab

So just change

<filename>C:\Program Files (x86)\ServerCare\WebGrab\xmltv.xml</filename>

into

<filename>C:\ProgramData\ServerCare\WebGrab\xmltv.xml</filename>

Next open a cmd window (ctrl+r -> cmd.exe -> ok) and run wg++ this time manually with

"C:\Program Files (x86)\ServerCare\WebGrab+PlusV1.1.1\WebGrab+Plus.exe"

You should get a log file

C:\ProgramData\ServerCare\WebGrab\WebGrab++.log.txt

Hope this helps

Ahhhh yes this is exactly what I needed! For some reason I didn't have show hidden folders enabled in Windows so I figured I'd have to move all the data from \ProgramData\ to \Program Files (86).

Now if I can just get the time of the programs to show up properly on my EPG then I'll be in business! Thanks so much!
