Mono forcing 118% CPU usage (Rpi3 LibreElec 8.1.2.)

Hi guys,

I realized that Mono JIT compiler version 5.2.0.224 (tarball Thu Sep 21 13:50:56 BST 2017) is causing heavy cpu usage on my RPI 3 everytime I reboot the raspi.

I guess the reason for that is, that the EPG 14 days is being parsed/created (method of update in WebGrab++.config is "smart").

What information is need to better understand why it behaves like that?

Hi,

no, I did not try another version as I dont know if that would be compatible.

However, I guess the usage comes from the <timespan>13</timespan> which means 14 days forecast...

Basically this may be the reason for the sound to be "draunting" because there is not enough CPU power left for the resampling....

And please note: the usage climbs only after restart...

Do you restart your Nuc often then?

cheers...

Hi, actually I never shut the Pi down but reboot it as you suggested. However I have set up another Pi2 with the same config and realized that mono is simply causing the Pi a lot of CPU usage.

I think this is normal behaviour as from now on I can compare it with the other Pi3 ( both are running LibreElec but different Kodi Versions and OS versions )

I have followed this guide here:

Raspberry_Pi_FAQ#Memory_Usage

which basically says: lower resoultion and I think it works better now.

Let's see what the future brings.

Cheers
