Error need help (m.tvguide.co.uk-full)

Hi,

I'm trying to generate UK EPG but after it generated five channels i get an error containing this message:

Unable to update channel Channel 5 UK
Generic syntax exception:
   message:
no index page data received from Channel 5 UK
unable to update channel, try again later
Existing guide data restored!

What am I doing wrong? Can you guys help me out?

I have the same issue but if I change the config file to <update>i</update> after a forced update it works.

Any suggestions for a workaround on this issue

thanks

Mauro

few things...

tvguide.co.uk is known to be problematic in the past.

search the forums, there has been a few ini versions for it.

your WebGrab++config.xml

<retry time-out="2">2</retry>

they setting are too low imho

<retry time-out="30">4</retry>

is what i personally use.

<user-agent>Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/5.0; yie9)</user-agent>

this user agent is very old and is also known to cause issues.

ever do a fresh windows install of win 7 or something and before you do a windows update and try the web browser and you get the message please update your web browser as its not compatible with this site, ect

well this is what the sites checks(user agent) and if it fails you go no further than the message above.

the same thing happens using webgrab if your using a outdated user agent.

here's the ones i use which is pretty new.

<user-agent>Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/51.0</user-agent>

use uk-sky.com

its the same site tv.sky.com uses but tv.sky.com hasnt been updated in ages(i dont even keep it in my list)

you should get data with uk-sky.com

also

please dont post and simply say it doesnt work,u did include some files with your first post.

at the top of the furum box there are guidelines to follow if you are having issues.

i'm not saying everything there is needed everytime(it does depend on the problem) but just use common sense,at the very least upload a log file.

nobody is going to answer "it dont work posts".

Thank you for your post I am following the guidelines but I'm new to this and learning. As of log files they were attached to the zip file i posted. I have created the cookies files but still no luck I will continue to try to solve this issue.

Hi Blackbear, can you confirm your grabbing ok with those above settings? Or has there been some sort of block imposed? Cheers in advance.
