Hi,
I was trying to find any indication or setting that I can potentially set in the config file to specify how many days back should be kept in the EPG file.
This is very critical for IPTV services that support catchup. Many IPTV players do support the ability to save a certain amount of days locally, but, for example, if your service provider supports 7 days of catchup it will take 7 days after initial setup of the service with the EPG before you can access the full 7 days back.
Is there a parameter supported with WG++ to set in order to define how many days back should be kept in the file? If so, where andd how do I set it? If not, is this a potential enhancement request that you are willing to explore adding?
add it to you webgrab config timespan setting.
<timespan keeppastdays="" oneshowonly="">1</timespan>
keeppastdays="x" - self explainatory
oneshowonly="HH:mm" used by delevopers - normal users have no reason to use this.
for keep past days its doesnt happen on one webgrab run.
example
keeppastdays="5"
-when webgrab runs today there will be no catchup(past days epg) as webgrab only keeps epg from today during grabbing.
- when webgrab runs tomorrow your existing guide.xml will contain epg from yesterday and webgrab will keep it so you will have 1 day catchup epg
- the next days webgrab will keep 2 days catchup epg
- next day,3 days catchup
- 4 days catchup
- 5 days catchup
when webgrab accumulates 5 days of catchup epg thats what will be kept for every webgrab run.
Thank you. This is very helpful.
I would recommend adding this to the documentation section to avoid other people asking this question as well. I asked it here in the forums because I did not find any explanation for it in the documentation.
the documentation tab at the top of the forums is not completely up to date.
the documented configuration files on the downloads page jan does try to keep updated.
detailed explaination of rex,mdb and webgrab config settings are in these files.
keep past days is there.
