Grabbing from an Android device

Hi,

I am new to the IPTV world and EPG. I have managed everything and I am now a happy user of WebGrab++ with the channels I want directly uploaded at a specific time to a web server. It takes a very long time to grab the EPG for only 1 day (273 channels in 3 hours and a half), even with incremental update, but it does the job as expected. I initially wanted to download a week of tv programs but quickly gave up with this idea as it is not feasible.

Anyway, my question is different. Because grabbing takes time and is quite CPU intensive, I would like to do this when not using my computer (or when the computer is off). This means overnight. I am not happy with this because I am not a student anymore and now shut down my computer every night. My only device in the house running 24/7 is an Amazon Fire TV. I thought if I could use it to grab my tv programs, that would be ideal. I have done a bit of homework but cannot find a way to do this from this device.

Has any of you been in the same situation and been able to find a workaround to this?

Cheers

Christophe

Hi,

I just would like to mention that i do not use Kodi as my IPTV player but Perfect Player. It seems, and correct me if I am wrong, that Kodi could potentially do what I am looking for. If I could avoid using Kodi I would prefer but if not, then so be it.

Thanks

Christophe

Hi Marik,

I haven't found any alternative solution yet. I started to try this (https://www.iptv-epg.com/) and was happy to pay but didn't dig enough to draw some conclusions.

I do not use Kodi so I didn't dig enough either but read few times that it was possible to implement WebGrab++ into Kodi. I think it uses LibreElec. A quick search and I found things like that: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=285918.

I am just surprised that this thread has never been commented even by the admins.

You probably won't get any comment here. Basics is whoever is willing to contribute to CREATION or MODIFICATIONS understanding the mechanism, can do so. You can contribute doing updates or creations of siteini's or if you lazy, making an offer.(sorry for capitals letters but I have to stress out the concept) This way you contribute to keepalive the forum and all the stuff working around this project. Anything else....I guess you will understand ;) .

Then using into any app, program or software is not into this forum scope.

Ps

take a bit of time to set epg grabbing yourself, it's not difficult and people here are willing to help you, on "how to use" webgrab, but before just read the 4 page of manual (the user part) and you will be happy to have your personal epg and donate to this forum.
