I have been running the WebGrabPlus for a month or so, and it's been working very good. A pretty simple setup: Download 8 TV channels for 2 days every day (to be able to save the XML data from 07:00 to 07:00).
Setting this up as a more permanent operation (on a dedicated Win10 PC, waking up the computer every morning at 07:00 using Task Scheduler and running WebGrabPlus also via Task Scheduler), I'm getting an error downloading with the message:
[ ] WebGrab++ license request and update log
[ ] 2022/03/14 07:07
and today:
....
[ Info ] Hardware mismatch detected .. see WGLicense.log.txt for details
[Warning ] Program will close ..
Running the WebGrabPlus logged in as Admin user works perfect.
My setup:
Fresh install of Windows 10, installed the WebGrabPlus software as a regular user, but it is saved under the Admin account. The Task Scheduler is run as a regular user, but under the security options in Task Scheduler (General tab), it is set up to run as Admin. The "guide.xml" files is saved to the D-drive and further configured by my EPG program from there, so that part works fine.
Running the computer as Admin connected to Internet isn't something I usually do, but it seems I have to re-think my configuration.
I have a lot more details if needed, but to make this post simple, my question is:
Can I run the WebGrabPlus software as a regular user on Windows 10?
Thanks!
your hardware has been fixed, yes you can run as user
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, my hardware was changed about a week ago, and I have downloaded every day (manually as Admin).
I have to go through all settings to see where the error is, probably some restrictions for the two accounts. But with your answer, one of the questions is out of the way.
By the way, I like the way you set up the restriction when new hardware is detected! Saves you a lot of work, and for me as a user (and aware of this), all was pretty much as expected when I changed the computer. Again, excellent work yoy have done setting all this up!
Thanks!
