Episode without IMdb rating

For series i using imdb.com.bing_series ini and work very good... I just found that when i have no matching in most cases problems are because

episode have no rate... but complete serie with all seasons have IMdb rate....

Is it possible that ini have option in case when episode have NO rate then we use rate for complete serie...

Thanks smiley

not real sure what u mean but imdb rating makes no difference on wheather webgrab gets a match.

supply a example,include the name of the ini,channel your using and the program.

upload  your mdb_config.xml

here my 2 cents...

the first title (forget the name) imdb doesnt have(nothing even close) so 0% possible match.

the second title (forget the name also) mdb finds the show but the seasons have no numbers(episode title only).since you only have the title and episode number information available(no episode title)...0% possible match.

thats leaves "Four Women and a Funeral".this one shud get a match but i had to change some setting for it to work...

mdb_comfig.xml

  <selectserie duration="25" minumum="2" musthave="title" contains="" optional="episode-num,sub-title"/>

  <matchserie mustmatch="title,episode-num" optional="sub-title" minimum="2"/>

  <episodenum_pattern site="lokalhost.fox">"sezona 'S1', epizoda 'E1'"</episodenum_pattern>

the last one is important(did you have this line?).without it u have 0% change of getting a match because this converts the season/episode info into something webgrab can understand and use to match the season/episode number information it gets from imdb.

this line also i had to change a bit(i'm not sure why)

<matchserie mustmatch="title,episode-num" optional="sub-title" minimum="2"/>

normally this would be...

<matchserie mustmatch="title" optional="sub-title,episode-num" minimum="2"/>

for some reason it wouldnt find a match util i changed it.

i use the imdb.com.bing.series.ini

the director scrub wasnt working(if u add it via mdb_config.xml).in my ini there was a small error.i checked the imdb.com.imdb.series.ini and it was ok so i may have done this myself testing something but check your director scrub line(only applied to the 2 imdb ini i said above)..

mdb_director.scrub {multi(max=2)|p4|?ref_=ttfc_fc_dr|" >|</a>|</td>}

shud be..

mdb_director.scrub {multi(max=2)|p4|?ref_=ttfc_fc_dr|>|</a>|</td>}

good luck.

all this is really strange (I testing on Windows 10).... no need to change matchserie mustmatch line....

You are right about first 2 shows...bad choice so sorry...and also right about scrub director...must be this line

mdb_director.scrub {multi(max=2)|p4|?ref_=ttfc_fc_dr|>|</a>|</td>}

I make more test and focus only for one show probably Four Women and a Funeral ... when i have results as I expect I explain everything once again....thank you for now yes

mdb_director.scrub {multi(max=2)|p4|?ref_=ttfc_fc_dr|>|</a>|</td>}

this will make a mess of the director element if there is more than one(its using multi).

i suggest changing it to single but i dont remember seeing more than one director on imdb(not that it cannot happen).also max=2 means when jan created the ini there were multiple.

that said i not sure whats the best(i say use single) and it will get the first director if there are multiple or else you will end up with a bunch of html code and tags i'm sure if there is more than one.

the problem is the >|</a>(ee/es).its to general for a multi element.

I made a lot of test with 00FOX.xml file (see zip file) which have only 2 serie shows:
Vier Frauen und ein Todesfall-once we have epizoda 1 and once epizoda 2

epizoda 1- Matching in imdb.com, showid = 0456106

epizoda 2 - No match in imdb.com !!

I believe that my mdb.config (see zip file) is optimal because I used for all FOX channels where in most cases (over 90%) found match for series..

So i tried also  all other  3 - 6 episodes (5 season) but no match....
these make no sense because I have all mandatory data, title and season and episode numbers
Why found only episode 1??

I also tried with sub-title:
<sub-title lang="sl">Mannsteufel</sub-title>

and voilaaaa ....

The question is:

WHY combination title+sub-title is OK
and
why combination title+episode-num NOT

And now main problem...

With sub-title got  Matching in imdb.com for both shows but...
For Show Epizoda 2 Starrating missing because Starratingvotes = 0...we need at least 5 votes....

I found that a lot episodes not have Starrating but the whole serie have just like our here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0456106/
As you see 148 votes and Starrating=7.2

So my suggestion is if possible to change mdb.com.bing_series.ini  in case like this to use Starrating for whole serie?

Thanks :-)

P.S. Maybe Jan and Francis can help :-)

i already said in my post above star rating will not help with mdb match.

the only things that matter are title,subtitle and episode number information.mdb uses these 3 elements only to select and match when searaching for a show.

also the starrating value is already scrubbed from this page...

from imdb.com.imdb_series or imdb.com.bing_series..

mdb_starrating.scrub {single()|p2|<div class="ratingValue">|itemprop="ratingValue">|</span>|</div>}

if we look above this line at the http adress for p2...

url_mdb_p2.modify {addstart()|http://www.imdb.com/title/tt'mdb_episode_id'} * the episode detail page

mdb_episode_id would be the value of any possible select matches like 0456106.

if we inspect the page data..

<div class="ratingValue">

<strong title="7.2 based on 148 user ratings"><span itemprop="ratingValue">7.2</span></strong><span class="grey">/</span><span class="grey" itemprop="bestRating">10</span> </div>

<a href="http://www.webgrabplus.com/%3Ca%20class%3D"html-attribute-value html-external-link" href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0456106/ratings?ref_=tt_ov_rt" target="_blank">/title/tt0456106/ratings?ref_=tt_ov_rt"

><span class="small" itemprop="ratingCount">148</span></a>

</div>
