Have the same problem for about 1 week. The system has been running for several months now without any problems. I am using Ubuntu Server 20.04. The interesting thing is that if I run the run.sh script again right after the error it works. The bad thing is that my cron job doesn't seem to work anymore because it runs on this error.
delete the .lic files, usually /home/ubuntu/.local/share/WebGrab+Plus/License
It is a problem if you run as a user or root, do decide as you want to run and then in config use update license f.
I have seen this problem also if you go back and forth with different versions, so first time of your next run do not run like 3.1.5 and 3.1.3 and then again 3.1.5.3 (bad explanation, hopefully you understand).
Unfortunately, it did not help. I deleted the license file. The next time it was run, it was created again.
I also have to say that neither applies to me. If I start the script manually then always under the user who also runs the cronjob.
sudo -u hts /home/hts/.wg++/run.sh
and when I update the version I have never switched to a previous version
i do not see mono running.on linux you should have a line with mono:

Please post you config (hide license email and password) and your webgrab log as a file please
when i wanted to copy the config i noticed that i still had a decrypt key in there for a site.ini that i don't use anymore. The problems also started around the same time I removed this site from the config. Let's wait until tomorrow. maybe that was already the problem
The problem seems to be solved. The cronjob tonight ran through without problems. Note, webgrap does not like it when decrypt keys are entered that are not used ( ;
Thanks for your help mat8861
strange for sure it should not affect the process if not in use. So probably was because you had same siteini with key and now you are running new version without key.. right?
Will mention to authors.
Actually, no. I had the decrypt key from HD+ in it. In the meantime I have changed all my channels to web.magentatv.de. It is really very fast and so far also very reliable.
I have my doubt that was the problem. I have in my config all the userkeys and wg runs fine everytime...depite channel line i use. Anyway good you got it sorted.

I'm having intermittent failures when capturing with WebGrab ++
I run it from Synology with Mono version 5.20, I never had this error before, it has been happening since I updated to WebGrab ++ 3.2
Thanks
Upgrade to version 3.2.1, because it was supposed to fix this problem ...
with version 3.2 it was intermittent, but with 3.2.1 it always happens ...
this happens when you first run as user and then as root, it also happened with a change of revision. Deleting the .lic files under /home/user/.local/share/WebGrab+Plus/License (user or root) then run update license, it should solve it.
do not change anything, it has always been executed manually as user or by cron, delete the file that I comment and it remains the same ... I stay in 3.2.
Version 3.2.1 works perfectly for me
Thanks a lot
Updated to 3.2.1 and still getting this error

did you run force update license ? you can try also to remove manually the .lic files located /home/(user/root)/.local/share/WebGrab+Plus/License/
I also had this error when i updated ubuntu to 20.04 as the network manager (netplan) did not add the google dns, so i had to modify it using resolveconf
I ran force update license, removed .lic file and checked dns servers.
Strange thing happenned when I tried to run 3.2 version, it worked.
But 3.2.1 still doesn't work with the same error.
try first remove, then force license update also make sure user permission on files
I am also getting same error
here is the details from log file

I had this on my server, solved setting dns to google 8.8.8.8
Tested it quickly on my server with version 4.2.4, unfortunately without success or was that related to 3.x.x?
the latest 4.x use dotnet 6 (you need to install first dotnet 5) and there was a problem with license check, don't know if authors solved. In linux i am running 4.2.2.8 that use dotnet 5 and works fine. In windows i run 4.2.3.6.
I have now still tested on Linux with v4.2.2.0 .net 5 (I can't find v4.2.2.8?) and unfortunately get exactly the same error.
look here: https://github.com/SilentButeo2/webgrabplus-siteinipack/tree/master/eval...
Anyway that error just happened to me also in windows (i am in vacation) and i solved setting dns 8.8.8.8
Thanks for the help but unfortunately it didn't work with v4.2.2.8 either, I always get the same error.
