Oh one more question… say my providers m3u channels all start with “US:” what do I need to edit
in my epg.xml so that they match up & auto populate the guide without me having to manually assign them in Tivimate?
tvg-id from m3u and xmltv_id in your channel lines in webgrab config the same.
It would be best to change the xml to what’s the channel is named in the m3u? Since when the m3u is updated i would loose the changes that I would have made to it and would no longer match up with the xml. So my question is if I change the xmltv_id will it still get the correct epg data?

It's safe for you to change the epgid to what the provider has assigned to the channels.. They barely get changed.. If you use a m3u editor that shouldn't matter even when the m3u gets updated daily
gotcha thanks so much for your quick response.
Sometimes they do update, championship, etc. etc. TV and media providers usually change/create new channels, when there are big events.It's a good thing to run channel update "c" once a month, although most of us will check that, only when we see there is no epg on display. So basically is up to you.

You can run site.ini in USA folder and follow the instructions for the zip code you need.

I created a localized channels settings for tvtv.us but says I can't pull from them.
you really shouldnt be using V3.x
it uses netframework which is end of life.
dotnet replaced it.
the latest was V3.3 which hasnt been updated i'm guessing in more than a year.
V5.2 on the downloads page requires dotnet 8
there is to many fixes and improvements since V3.3 to list.
thge message that webgrab cannot pull data is just a warning.
it comes from the robot.txt check.
its doesnt mean webgrab cannot pull the data,it means the site doesnt allow webscraping.
in your webgrab config add ! to your mode setting.
its a undocumented setting that disables the robot check.
<mode>!,#,m,n</mode&gyt;
! - disable robot check
# - disables the useage reporting(this hasnt been enabled on the webgrab server for years).its also another undocumented setting
it will just remove the message you see about it in your log file(less clutter).
m - measures grabbing time
n - no mark

Id love to use 5.2 but haven't been able to get it working on my Synology NAS. I installed the .net 8 community app but doesn't seam connect to webgrab+
i believe synology uses containers(docker)?
all you have to do uis install dotnet and then the latest webgrab version available as a container.
then download V5.2 and replace the files in the bin.net folder.
i am not 100% sure though as my nas is a thecus.i nedd to run V5.x via chroot
