Hello,

WG 3.3, .ini revision 14 of orange.tv, I can't get it to work (see my logs above).
If you have a config that works, I'm interested in any information.

Thanks.

With wg5 it started. But I have a localization problem, I tried with an IP in England and Germany.
I have the same return with code 451 (see log file).

Is it mandatory to have an IP in France or does the error come from elsewhere?

You are correct, i tried with vpn UK, Germany, Italy and i get 451. Same with browser HTTP ERROR 451
With my home ip (Italy) works fine. May be they have set a list of banned vpn ip address.

Hi,

wg5, revision 14.
I try with an ip that I tested and seems valid.

dotnet --info
Host:
Version: 8.0.10
Architecture: arm
Commit: 81cabf2857

However I have an error that I do not understand.
A little help? Thanks

its a bug in V5.1.3
why you should always use the latest version.

Hello Team,

I can’t seem to get the tv.orange.fr site to work anymore..
I’m getting the following error in the log:

Has anyone else experienced the same issue recently?
Do you think the tv.orange.fr.ini file needs an update?

I’ve attached my WebGrab++.config.xml and WebGrab++.log.txt files for reference.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for your reply!

I reinstalled WebGrab+Plus v5.5.0.0 (Windows) and ran SiteIni.Pack.Update.exe to make sure all siteini files are up to date.

Then I rebuilt a fresh WebGrab++.config.xml including several providers:

  • tv.orange.fr
  • sfr.fr
  • programme-tv.net
  • canalplus.com

All of them work perfectly except tv.orange.fr, which still fails with the same message:

[Warning ] error downloading page: An error occurred while sending the request.
[Error   ] Unable to update channel TF1
[Critical] Generic syntax exception:
[Critical]    message:
[Error   ] no index page data received from TF1
[Error   ] unable to update channel, try again later
[  Info  ] Existing guide data restored!

I’m attaching my new WebGrab++.config.xml and WebGrab++.log.txt files.
Could you please check if I’m missing something in the configuration ?

Thanks again for your help!

Hi again,

I did some further investigation using Fiddler and found something interesting.

When WebGrab+Plus tries to grab data from tv.orange.fr, it performs the following request:

GET https://rp-ott-mediation-tv.woopic.com/api-gw/live/v3/applications/STB4P... HTTP/1.1
Host: rp-ott-mediation-tv.woopic.com
Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate, br
User-Agent: WebGrab+Plus

This request returns a 504 Gateway Timeout.
However, when I test exactly the same request in Postman, it only fails if I keep the User-Agent: WebGrab+Plus.
If I change it to anything else (e.g., Mozilla/5.0), the response is 200 OK and the EPG data loads correctly.

So it seems that tv.orange.fr (or rp-ott-mediation-tv.woopic.com) is now blocking requests based on the User-Agent header.

I don’t understand why it still works for some other users, maybe their requests are cached or routed differently?

Is there a way to override the User-Agent used by WebGrab+Plus for this site in the tv.orange.fr.ini file, or is it hardcoded in the executable?

For reference, I’m already using the <user-agent> tag in my WebGrab++.config.xml, but it doesn’t seem to affect this request.

Thanks again for your help!
Eric

webgrab should be sending whatever user agent you have set in your webgrab config.

your saying is isnt?

i just tried it on a ini i finished updating and looks fine to me,same user agent as i have in my webgrab config.

CONNECT www.programme-television.org:443 HTTP/1.1
Host: www.programme-television.org:443
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/140.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 Edg/140.0.0.0

Yes, exactly — that’s what I’m saying.

Even though I’ve set a custom <user-agent> value in my WebGrab++.config.xml, the requests sent by WebGrab+Plus still show the default: "User-Agent: WebGrab+Plus"

For example, here’s a capture from Fiddler when grabbing programme-tv.net:

GET https://www.programme-tv.net/programme/chaine/2025-10-28/programme-baby-tv-229.html HTTP/1.1
Host: www.programme-tv.net
Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate, br
User-Agent: WebGrab+Plus

So it looks like the <user-agent> value from the config file isn’t actually being applied to outgoing requests (at least in my setup).

That’s probably why tv.orange.fr keeps returning 504, since the “WebGrab+Plus” user agent seems to be blocked.

Would you like me to share the relevant part of my config file to confirm the syntax?

tried this again.

this time i set the user agent in the ini file which we never do.

result..

the user gent is there twice, once from webgrab config and once from being set in the ini.

CONNECT rp-ott-mediation-tv.woopic.com:443 HTTP/1.1
Host: rp-ott-mediation-tv.woopic.com:443
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/140.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 Edg/140.0.0.0 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/140.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 Edg/140.0.0.0

i have no idea why your seeing WebGrab+Plus.

have to wait for jans response.

I asked you to use the sample....you did not. In particular set <mode>!,m,n</mode> if it works for me, should work for you, It's not any magic i do.

You’re absolutely right.

In <mode> I hadn’t added the character "!" because I couldn’t find any documentation about this mode in the official guide, so I didn’t realize it was required.

I just tried again with <mode>!,m,n</mode> and it works perfectly now!

Thank you so much for your patience and help, and also for all the great work the team have done on WebGrab+Plus.

It’s really an amazing tool!

Hello Team,
Just to check, does the provider tv.orange.fr work correctly for you with the following channels ?

<channel update="i" site="tv.orange.fr" site_id="90230##bsmart_tv%2F20200617_151521" xmltv_id="B SMART">B SMART</channel>

<channel update="i" site="tv.orange.fr" site_id="90162##trace_latina%2F20200727_173101" xmltv_id="TRACE LATINA">TRACE LATINA</channel>

For me, these two channels still fail under tv.orange.fr, despite using <mode>!,m,n</mode>.
Could someone please confirm if they work on your installation ?

Thanks a lot !
