I tried following the instructions and saw a post from 2020 to no avail.
Do you have updated instructions for Directv?

their tvguide page hasnt loaded in browser for awhile.
not sure if its a temporary problem or a permanent one.

Same problem here. I can see that directv website is not available outside the USA. So the grabber should work within the country.
Yet I can locate neither directv grab, not some of the channels:
PBS-WPBT
CBS-WFOR
NBC-WTVJ
FOX-WSVN
ABC-WPLG
CW-WSFL
CNN (!)
ACCU WEATHER
HBO FAMILY
HBO ZONE
HBO COMEDY
HGTV
A&E
TCM
UNI-WLTV
AUDIENCE
all the channels with t 4 letters after the - are locals(you channel names use thier call sign).
example
cbs-wfor(wfor is the cbs callsign for the miami station)
if you google if u will find its cbs miami so you have to create a channel list using a miami zipcode(again google miami zipcode).
nbc-wtvj is nb6 south florida,it should also be in a channel list using a miami zipcode.
i didnt check them all but the ones i checked are miami locals.
here's a provider list and channel list for dtv miami(zipcode 33101).
uses tvguide.com.ini,open ini and read remarks for creating other lists.
note:
usa stations can be a pita to find.
example
tcm is also called turner classic movies
cnn(i) also called Cable News Network International
hgtv also called home and garden tevelision
ect.
this list is very good as it has the callsign and full channel name for most.
the only one i dont think thats in the list is audience.
according to the wiki page is been closed since 2020.

Nevertheless now I am stuck with the New York search for zip code 10001. I tried the steps 3 and 4 from the screenshot, but that didn't help. I would appreciate your help very much, what am I doing wrong?

dont forget to change site_id="10001" to the zip u want

ur going see a east and west.
use whatever u wish,its same epg just timeshifted.
